FUJI by Philip J Cunningham

An adventure set on the slopes of Japan’s highest peak, FUJI is a tale of looking for love in all the wrong places and finding something else along the way. It follows the on-again, off-again romance of two resident alien co-workers, Collin Long and Huang Jianhong, who are trying to make it in a land that doesn’t always seem to want them. They join TV celebrity Miki Matsu on a winter climb of Japan’s penultimate peak with high hopes of being accepted, but jealousy, greed and lust cause things to fall apart almost from the start. Drawn to the beauty of the seductive, snowy peak, and seeing it as the ultimate escape from social prejudices, they are answered with bad weather and nature’s cold indifference. Dreams shattered and social niceties discarded by the wayside, they confront one another as a three-way romantic romp goes wrong and they find themselves in a fight for their very survival.
